An early Georgian Naval Dirk by Collins 52 Strand. Solid brass hilt and decorative brass scabbard etched with trophy of arms.
Plain blade with fuller. A very clean example with crisp etching.

A scarce Royal Naval Pursers sword 1825 pattern engraved on scabbard with makers details Firmin & Sons, sword cutlers, 153 strand, London.
True to pattern with crossed anchors on hilt. Retaining 80 percent Blue & Gilt in an excellent brass mounted leather scabbard retaining all its strength with no damage.

P63 Pair: Indian Mutiny Medal one clasp “Central India ”Ensign W F Sandwith 3rd Bombay European Regiment nicely engraved in capitals but is renamed. Afghanistan no clasp Maj. W F Sandwith 15th. BO NI. Nicely chisel sloping engraving on an untouched field suggesting original engraving. He finished up a Major General in the Indian Army.

Single: Crimea medal to Private Squire Baldwin, 3rd Battalion, Grenadier Guards, who was killed in action at the battle of Inkermann
Crimea 1854-56, 4 clasps, Alma, Balaklava, Inkermann, Sebastopol (S. Baldwin. Grenadier Gds.) officially impressed naming, minor edge bruising.
Squire Baldwin served as a Private in the 3rd Battalion, Grenadier Guards, and was killed in action at the battle of Inkermann on 5 November 1854.
The Soldiers Battle as it has become known is probably the most outstanding actions of the Crimea and a Grenadier casualty tops the list in desirability.

P46 Single: QUEENS SOUTH AFRICA 1899 three clasps: “CC, OFS, T.”. Impressed 1682 Corpl. J. H. Godby, Victorian Mounted Rifles. 5th Contingent.
John (Jack) Heitland Godby played for Melbourne in the first season of the VFL as the then youngest man to appear for the club. He also played for his school side during the year.
He then disappeared from senior ranks until 1903 serving as Coy Quartermaster-Sergeant in the Boer War. He returned to the league when he was cleared to Essendon in May 1903, playing twice for them.
Godby also played cricket for the East Melbourne club.

A red cross file exists with the following eyewitness statement; “They all went over the top on the 19th July at Fromelles. We had 440 yards to cross under heavy enemy fire and a creek to get over into the bargain. None of these men answered roll call.” Cpl Poulter
