Photograph album containing 79 original WW2 period photos taken in Papua New Guinea. The Album was compiled together by Corporal Raymond George Ball, 6 AA Topographical Survey Coy and it is because of his association with the Topographical unit that the album has many rare and seldom seen photos. The majority of photos are labelled and are in a personalised album titled “NEW GUINEA” and initialled “R.G.B” all in gold up right capitals. This album is an extremely interesting insight into the New Guinea campaign.

THE BRITISH CAVALRY SWORD 1788-1912 Some New Perspectives. By Richard Dellar
Every now and then a reference book comes along that deserves to be included with such greats as the Badge books by King & Kipling and British Battles & Medals.
This book follows on from Swords of the British Army by Robson and deserves to be included with these outstanding publications.
Specialising in Cavalry, Dellar expands on each of the patterns in a clear and concise manner and I feel sure it is a book that will negate the frustration of a google search for information.
Hard cover, sewn section, gold blocked with a dust jacket 326 pages. This book is profusely illustrated on quality paper giving numerous examples of the various patterns.
A must have for any serious sword collector.

An extremely rare 1866 SOUTH AUSTRALIA VOLUNTEER RIFLES SWORD by Wilkinson Sword Company proof number 14753 purchased by the SA Agent -General F. S. Dutton on the 13 November 1866. True to pattern of the light Infantry sword with steel guard of Gothic style with a crown and stringed bugle in the cartouche. The hilt is painted in a gold paint which was obviously done many years ago. Although simple to strip, I am reluctant to do this in case records show they were done in that way to match the later brass hilt swords purchased in 1887 (see sword on this page). Complete with Colonial style leather scabbard, Blade etching shows VOLUNTEER in scroll above SA (South Australia) above RIFLES in scroll. Top panel of fish skin missing from the grip. Otherwise in good condition for one of Australia’s earliest swords at 1866.
Good overall condition Sold
A very Rare and interesting British Sword by Woolley & Sargant. Following Waterloo a great number of 1796 Light Cavalry swords were available for re-hilting. This sword takes on the appearance of the 1896 Mountain Artillery Sword with ultra-rare steel (NOT brass) hilt as used by British not Indian troops. But I can’t help but feel it is much earlier as the family who sold it stated the family legend said it was used in the Battle of Pinjarra Western Australia 1834.
Handle and hilt are steel, even pitting all over, one langet missing or has been purposely removed. Blade showing light pitting and has been converted to spear point. Complete with Steel scabbard. Blade length 29 1/2 inches. Total overall length 35 inches.
Overall quite good condition $1850
A scarce French XIII Heavy Cavalry sword with full Klingenthal engraved backstrap dated June 1813.

This sword has been in a local collection for between 30 & 40 years. Blade length 37 ½ inches.

A scarce 1796 Pattern Troopers Heavy Cavalry DISC HILT Sword. True to pattern in all respects still retaining its langets and hatchet point . A good heavy scabbard which is dent free and marked C over 17 with matching marks on the hilt.
