BO NI. Nicely chisel sloping engraving on an untouched field suggesting original engraving. He finished up a Major General in the Indian Army.

John (Jack) Heitland Godby played for Melbourne in the first season of the VFL as the then youngest man to appear for the club. He also played for his school side during the year.
He then disappeared from senior ranks until 1903 serving as Coy Quartermaster-Sergeant in the Boer War. He returned to the league when he was cleared to Essendon in May 1903, playing twice for them.
Godby also played cricket for the East Melbourne club.
